What Is Micro Brewing?

When you are in the beer brewing circles you have probably heard of micro brewing. If you have never heard of it, here you will learn what really micro brewing is.

To make the explanation very simple, micro brewing is most of the time refered to a beer that is homebrewed or that is brewed in small pub in your local area.

The real term “micro-brewing” was first usedn in the United Kingdom around the 1970′s. In that time they used it to describe very traditional beer called cask ale and to call smaller batches that made their own beer.

For very long period of time micro brew was used to characterize only the smaller brewery and how much volume of their beer they produced.

For example:
Beer breweries that produced less than 15,000 beer barrels per year were characterized as micro breweries.

But today micro brewing became so popular that you can see this term to be used all over the world, which decribe small breweries offering very unique beer flavor that is brewed to service small areas.

When you will talk to some beer connoisseurs, they will quickly tell you that beer that is brewed in these micro breweries is often times the best tasting beer. It is due to the freedom they have in experimenting with special beer recipes.

When you taste beer that is made in micro breweries, you will soon recognize it’s distinct flavor and you would even feel that this beer is much richer than beer brewed in big breweries.

Micro brewing became so popular that large number of people are starting their own micro brew at the comfort of their own home. I can almost guarantee that if you do a bit of search, you will find at least two or three micro breweries in your neighnorhood.

These folks are very passionate about making their own brand of beer and for you it will be great opportunity to talk to people with the same interest as you have. The best part of these groups is that they always experience with new brews and the tasting is one of the best experiences you can have.

Labeling Your Home Brew Bottles – Learn How To Label Your Beer Bottles

When you have crafted great recipe and learned how to brew the perfect batch of beer that you and your entire neighborhood loves, it would be a shame not to stick some great beer label that will symbolize your own and unique beer blend that you took the time to create.

Of course that the label does not give the final taste to your home made beer, but without the label your finished product appears kind of unfinished and plain.

Just go to the local convenience store and go to the isle of their beer selection. What you will notice is that many commercial breweries have a unique look to their brand of the beer. So you will recognize them later. Also they have a generic label for the company, but each of their beer product has a special twist to the generic branding label.

Now, you do not need to spend thousands of dollars just to create your own beer label. You do not posses the multi-million dollar bank account. But you can get some labels in local Staples. They have labeling package with cd-rom. On the cd-rom they have a basic program where you can design your own beer label.

You also can hire a graphic design student from your local college. They will be happy to design nice label for just couple bottles of your beer. When you will see your own label on your own home made beer, you will really enjoy the moment of pride and achievement!

So do not worry about how expensive it could be to design and print your own labels. With the two examples above you can get it all done in under $100 bucks.

If you are a bit of designer yourself, you can find some free clip arts or get some stock images and do the label yourself. But that is up to you. At the end only the final result is what counts.

Even if you are scared of designing your own labels, just try it. You might even discover that graphic design could be another hobby of yours, just like the homebrew hobby.

Making Your First Batch of Homebrew Beer

It is really amazing that beer making at your home is very easy to do. So with little effort everyone can start brewing their own beer at home without the need of going to the local store buying bottles of beer. And once you start making your own beer you will do it forever, I guarantee that.

With beer making kits and many beer making recipes they are out there, you can create huge beer inventory for yourself, your family and friends.

When you search on the internet you can find many suppliers of beer making tools and ingrediences. These can be pre-hopped, un-hopped malt extract that come in over thirty various options of grains you can crush up and steep for your beer. There are many types of brewers yeast and other additional ingredients to give your own beer special taste according your imagination.

Then you just need some room to set up all your tools, kits and ingrediences and you are ready to make your first batch of homebrew beer. Once you have all the tools you need to brew your beer the right way, you can start making your first batch of home made beer.

Decide what type of beer you want to brew first. I think this decision is very hard to make because there are so many types of beer you can produce.

You can have beer that is light, dark, pale and amber or there are German recipes, English, Irish, American and many more. Your determining factor should be the flavor, so you should decide what flavor you want to do first. Read through the over 600 Beer Making Recipe E-book and start with the one you like the most.

Before you start brewing make sure your equipment is clean. The best is to sanitize it. Do this before and after every beer batch you make at home. This will avoid many health problems later.

Simply wash everything with warm water and let everything to dry. Now you will be ready to do your first batch of homebrew beer.

Basically you mix the water with the malt extract. Let it come to a boiling point. Use either the pre-hopped or un-hopped extract based on your recipe.

After you do that you need to cool down the mixture, so put the brew kettle into a sink full of cold water. When the temperature falls below one hundred, you can ferment it in a sanitized container;

The last step will be adding the brewers yeast. This is what gives the flavor to the beer. You can get any type of this yeast, so choose the one that you think will give a great taste or just follow the beer making recipe.

Now, when you add everything you should, let the beer sit and ferment for 8 to 10 days. Then let it stand at room temperature for about two days after all the bubbling stops.

When it’s done, you are ready to put your beer into a bottles. So first pour the beer into a bucket and add 3/4 cup of sugar. Fill the bottles you have purchased to about an inch from the top and apply a beer cap.

In this state you still need to leave the beer to get carbonated for 10 days. You can place your new beer batch into a fridge and let it cool down. Beer really taste the best when it’s chilled.

When you want to have a good time and relax, just open one of your bottle of your first batch of homebrew beer, sit back and enjoy the great tasting, chilled bottle of beer.

Making Your Own Beer at Home – Tips You Need to Understand When Making Your Own Beer at Home

Have you ever wanted to know about making your own beer at home? Well, you have come to the right place, because here you will get tips and advice on how to homebrew your own beer. It really is not as hard as many people try to make you believe.

For me it is a lot of fun and I am sure you will soon love it as well. Besides you will certainly be very proud of your own great tasting beer. All you need to start is to buy some beer brewing kits and basic beer making equipment that is available in the store or online. Once you gather all the tools you need and understand all the information about making your own beer at home, you can start applying your new knowledge and start making your own beer.

Making Your Own Beer at Home Requirements

Here is the list of items you will need to start making your own beer at home:

malt extract

water

brewers yeast

See, it is not many things and that is what make beer making very easy, but very fun to do.

When you are buying the malt extract, you will usually find them in the for of syrup, but if you plan to store malt extract for longer period of time, get the dry one.

There are many kinds of malt extract, just do research online or ask the clerk in your local liquor store. For faster service I recommend you go online, compare all the types of malt extract and then order the one you will pick as the best one for you.

When using water, try to get spring water since your beer will be much tastier. If you just want to try couple batches of beer without much of an investment you can use tap water as well. It still amazes me that many people have no idea that beer is made of a lot of water.

The third part of beer making is brewers yeast. What this yeast does to the beer making process is that it ferments the malts and the sugars into the alcohol. This step is the one that releases carbon dioxide to your beer.

When you dive into beer making you will soon realize that there are so many different ways to brew your own beer. See our beer recipe e-book with over 600 beer making recipe. Some recipes takes longer for the beer to be made and some are just matter of couple hours.

You job at this point is to read through all the recipes and choose the one that sound great to you. Or you can go step-be-step and create all of the beer recipes.

Oh, one last thing I should mention here. You have to maku sure that all beer making equipment and tool you are using are kept clean and sterile. So be careful and keep everything sanitary. You will avoid many problems later. You just do not want to take the chances and get sick or worst you do not want anyone drinking your beer to get sick.

As you can see, making your own beer at home is great way to have fun, enjoy your own beer and increase your creativity mindset. And repetition is the mother of all success. More you do it, better tasting beer you are going to products.
The History Of Home Brewing – Learn The Story Behind Home Beer Brewing

I know it is very easy for you to grab a bottle of your favorite beer at your local store, but it is much better if you homebrew your own unique beer and pop the bottle open anytime you just want to relax or have fun with your family and friends.

Many people think that making their own beer is some kind of hard-core science which is very difficult to do for most folks.

But the truth is that you need only couple ingrediences to make your own homebrew. In fact beer brewing and alcohol making was here hundreds of years ago. In those time do you think people had the scientists and tools to do something very hard to do? No way! They used very simple equipment to turn any drink they wanted into alcohol.

But enough of simple talk, lets dive into the history of alcohol making and beer brewing.

Did you know that alcohol making was first used over 7000 years ago? Yes, many tribes were making their alcohol. Their only choice was to do it in their homes since companies did not exist right?

Every tribe had their own special alcohol drink or brew and sometimes they exchanged knowledge with members of other tribes and that is how the brewing techniques were slowly improved and in the year of around 1800s a first companies started to brew their brand of beer.

That is when even first bottles of beer were sold and these breweries started to make profits by brewing beers.

As soon as the government realized how much money these companies are making, they started to tax brew equipment, ingrediences, brewing kits and the alcohol by itself.

Many knows this period as the prohibition. During these times it was very risky to make any type of alcohol at home, but I guess people loved the “illegal aspect” to it.

This prohibition was cancelled in the year of 1933 because there were certain groups of people who managed organized crime similar to the drug-dealing mafias and cartels we know of today.

When prohibition was lifted, many companies started to brew again and it became great business in which many people made huge profits. And it still is today.

In recent years many people started homebrewing their own beer at their own homes. It became a hobby for hundreds of thousands folk around the world. These people love the fact that they can come up with special beer recipes that give their beer very unique flavor and body.

Because anyone who want to brew their own beer can buy all the beer making ingredients, beer kits and beer making recipes at very reasonable prices, homebrewing hobby is on a rise like never before.

Just take a look around your small town and soon you will discover couple micro breweries or folks that brew their own beer.
